On December 8th, 1980 my dreams were shattered. The innocence of us "baby boomers" youth and rock 'n' roll revolution
were silenced by an assassin's gun. An unimaginable image!
Play music. Do not play with guns.

Freddy Fender
Before The Next Teardrop Falls

I really enjoyed meeting Freddy. He was always great fun and soulful.
This picture was the first photo session I did in my first London studio on December 6th 1976
The last conversation I had with him was in Nashville, about travel and missing home.

The history of Mother's Day
MARCH 20/22
Lucinda and her father, Miller Williams performed two rare concerts at Nashville's Belcourt Theatre, treating their audience to two hours of music and poetry, interlaced with social rhetoric and family values. Lucinda is accompanied by guitarist, Doug Pettibone.

TUESDAY MARCH 7

JESSE "Guitar" TAYLOR, in memoriam.
April 10th 1950 - March 7th 2006

Jesse was one of the kindest most loved men, one could ever have the pleasure to meet.
He was a well read, wise gentle giant, packaged into one powerhouse West Texas, guitar-slinger, shit kicker.
Jesse had a wild side, a keen eye for the ladies and the written word. He loved his family and his friends passionately and embraced life in a way that some may never experience in four score and ten (and then some). Whenever, I think of my friend, Jesse, it is and will be with a smile.
His guitar volume knob was a gamblers dice and was always turned up high.

Jesse was one of a kind.

www.virtualubbock.com is a wonderful memorial page for Jesse Taylor. Please share your memories, Condolences and photographs.

We live in a time of war and mass tragedies, both political and natural. Jesse "Guitar" Taylor played it his way, loud and proud.

SUNDAY MARCH 5
REBA CASH HANCOCK (Johnny's sister) died today. Reba was General Manager of the House Of Cash office in Hendersonville for about forty years, devoting the much of her adult life to her brother's business affairs. Reba was a wonderful lady with an unbounding sprit, who lived her life well. Reba will be missed by many . R.I.P.

BE HERE TO LOVE ME opened in Nashville at The Belcourt Theatre

See this film.

This is a superb film. Of all the current biopics and artist documentaries, this film excels. Produced, directed and conceived by Margaret Brown, embellished by the cinematography of Lee Daniels, the movie moves in a style that is enticing and compelling. This is film great making and editing. If directors get Oscars, then Margaret Brown should be nominated in the director category.

JANUARY 2

2006 has taken off like a speeding rocket, with hardly enough time to digest the holiday fare or to recover from the seasonal flu!

Or the road trip to Austin, Texas.

The year ended with a photo session with Nashville's Lone Official for Honest Jon's Records in London and the non stop roller coaster of Johnny Cash merchandise and magazine requests. The CASHBASH2005 DVD package was also finalised and shipped. My back Catalogue library is constantly in demand. The last week of 2005 found me reaching for Oak Ridge Boys files for an upcoming greatest hits album package, designing a CD package and the on-line Gallery orders were busy for Christmas.

I am preparing two prints of Johnny Cash to go into a gallery exhibit, which opens in London at Blink Gallery on January 19th. I shall be attending the opening.
Also, negotiations are under way to publish a book of my Johnny Cash archives. (Thank you everybody for the e.mails!)
