Marshall Grant, original bass player with Johnny Cash, "Tennessee Two" died on Saturday night.
He spent his last conscious day with friends at a Johnny Cash Festival in Jonesboro, Arkansas and was happy before he suffered a stroke.
A Few hours earlier he told me a wonderful, funny story about one of Johnny's guitars.

R.I.P.  BOOM CHICKA BOOM.

BOB HARRIS O.B.E.
Congratulations to Bob Harris, who received an OBE in the 2011 Queen's Birthday Honours List for services to Music Broadcasting.

There is no one more dedicated and energetic in British broadcasting than Bob, representing Britain with his unique English diction and presentation.
I am so pleased that the Palace have honoured him in this year that celebrates Bob's 40 years in broadcasting and the 40th anniversary of The Old Grey Whistle Test.

BILL JOHNSON - Art director/ designer/ friend - dead at 68.

A lunar eclipse, full moon and the death of my dear friend Bill Johnson from cancer at 68.
A true artist, heavy smoker, good dancer, storyteller and one of the toughest, kindest men I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

Bill was art director at CBS Records in Nashville that became Sony. We worked together on dozens of albums, we won a Grammy together and Bill was very influential in my American career.

CHARLIE LOUVIN, 1927 - 2011

Charlie Louvin was an American original. He and his brother Ira redefined country music male harmonies
I value the time spent with Charlie, his big smile, stories and always the music that is his legacy.
They just don't make them like that anymore.
Watch this Louvin Brothers clip:
