Simon Dee  July 28 1935 – August 29 2009

I worked with Simon Dee for three years as stills photographer on his BBC TV show, Dee Time
and then when he transferred to LWT TV (1970), with The Simon Dee Show.
Simon Dee was synonymous with the spirit of the Swinging Sixties (the English Johnny Carson)
Simon was wonderful to work with. My first professional shoot was on his TV show in 1967. I am very sad to hear of his demise
and also distraught to learn of yet another victim of cancer.
Simon Dee had it all. Fame, fortune, a top TV show, "dolly birds", fast car, fashion, charisma and always charm and good looks.
However, Simon threw it all away through arrogance and some unfortunate business moves.
Simon Dee was a sixties icon, a leader and trendsetter of fashion
and a pioneer of British broadcating, being one of the first DJs on Radio Caroline, an offshore "pirate" station.
It is with sadness and some regrets that I now write this obituary.

in honour of all the fallen heroes, those who have beaten cancer and those who will.
