Most of the construction in Nashville is hideous. Music City is now Crane Condo-City.
Urban renewal and growth with inner city infrastructure is inevitable, but just do it well. Build with pride.
Our city is becoming homogenised by gold-rush investors using cheap labour and materials.
Give real architects the opportunity, spend our tax dollars wisely please.

WEST BAY, Westgate-On-Sea, Kent - England
I lived with this view from 2 years old. My first memories are walking to this beach with my Mother and Grandmother.
When I was seven I bought my first camera, a Kodak Brownie 127, in the town, we had moved to a different house in Westgate by then.
The high tides and beaches inspired my first photographs as did my family.
One month ago I was walking barefoot with a new camera 57 years on.

SEPTEMBER 6
MARGATE HARBOUR, Kent - England
I grew up by this coast, it inspired my first photographs.
There is now a wonderful restaurant, where I had a magnificent meal of fresh fish and local vegetables. Next door is a pub with local ales, colourful local people and some damn fine spicy veggie sandwiches.
When I was a boy this was just a place for fishermen. There was a Cockle Stall to the right of where I am standing, where my grandfather would buy me a saucer of cockles for sixpence. He is long gone and so is the original stall,
but the same family generations on, still have a stall with fabulous local oysters, cockles, whelks and mussels.

JUNE 29
STREET SLEEPER, Nashville Convention Center
It is sad that there is another side of Nashville, having just left the Buddy Guy show, I see this man.
He looks well groomed. I know of another young man who had almost given up hope, but gave it one more try by living in a tent in Nashville.
He was discovered and given a chance by a notable musician and has since toured the world on his musical journey.
Hope is for all. An artist of calibre is a force to be reckoned with. Some have it, some just don't.

MAY 30
MOONSCAPE in Kentucky

June 2nd, (three days later than this picture) we in America have a "Strawberry Full Moon", apparently named by the native Algonquin Tribes, who used it to signal the gathering of ripening spring fruits and vegetable, like strawberries.
In Europe June's full moon is called the "Rose Moon."
It is also called a "Honey Moon" or a "Mead Moon" because (in our hemisphere) it's position is low in the sky, so the earth's atmosphere provides a warm tint.
The word “Honeymoon" refers to marriage's sweetness, in addition to the European custom of giving newlyweds enough Mead to last them a month. June is a popular month to get married, so many couples take their honeymoons during the month of the "Honey Moon."
And as if this month's full moon didn't have enough nicknames already, some cultures also call it a "Hot Moon" because it's the start of the summer season.

The blue neon sign was not lit, but the place was packed.
What a send off! "All Things Must Be Washed (... the last gig at the old Family Wash!)" featured The Sons Of Zevon who rocked the eastside neighbourhood club that has been embraced by many.
With bitter sweet feelings and support for Jamie Rubin's business decision to move to another local location the club was packed, beers were drunk to toast, shepherd's pie's flowed from the kitchen steaming hot on this winter's night
and notably a great set by Keith Gattis who sang Freddy Fender's, "Before The Next Teardrop Falls"
